Changing job position app

This app was intended to be made for social good.

The problem: Better profile for the candidates who want to change their jobs but don’t know where and how.

The goal: Better flow to step by guide to how to change the job position.

My responsibilities on this project were conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, iterating on designs and responsive design.

I. Understanding the user

User research: summary

I conducted user interviews, which I then turned into empathy maps to better understand the target user and their needs. I discovered that many target users treat online shopping as a fun and relaxing activity when they need a break from school or work. However, many job changing websites are overwhelming and confusing to navigate, which frustrated many target users. This caused a normally enjoyable experience to become challenging for them, defeating the purpose of relaxation.

Then it came to Personas.

Competitive audit

In brief the app should be focus on the user phycological profile plus step by step guide about the administration process in how to change job position.

Ideation

I’ve tried crazy 8 technique for faster results.

II. Starting the design

Digital wireframes

First steps in the low-fi wireframes.

Usability study: parameters

  • Study type: Unmoderated usability study
  • Location: Czechia, remote
  • Participants: 7 participants
  • Length: 30-60 minutes

Usability study: findings

  • People want easy access to the psychological test
  • But then were frustrated about the duration of the test.
  • People need time indicator for the test to prepare mentaly how long will take.

III. Refining the design

Thank you! I’m looking forward to see you in our app!
